Check out the updates to the 2019 Honda Pilot
The 2019 Honda Pilot received a few refreshes for the 2019 model year, and on today’s blog we’ll go over the updates you can find that are big and small.
An updated 9-speed transmission
The top Touring and Elite trims for the 2019 Honda Pilot have a 9-speed transmission. Admittedly, not every customer in the past was a huge fan, and they found that the shifts weren’t as smooth as they would like when cruising around Dayton or Mason OH.
Honda engineers heard their concerns loud and clear and the 9-speed got some updates for the 2019 model year to help remedy those issues.
Honda Sensing® is standard!
In the past if you want to get the base trim for the Pilot you couldn’t get Honda Sensing®. It was available on the middle trims and standard on the Touring and Elite. Since the Pilot is very much a family crossover, it was a bit odd that these features weren’t standard.
Seeing that drivers really want these aboard their vehicle, the Honda brand did the right thing by making it standard across the entire lineup!
With the Honda Sensing® package you’ll get advanced driver assistance and crash avoidance technologies that help make driving between Middletown OH and Hamilton OH (or anywhere you travel) safer. The package includes the following:
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keeping Assist
Road Departure Mitigation
Adaptive Cruise Control
Collision Braking System
Forward Collision Warning
Hello again, volume knob
One change that Honda designers made a few years back was going with a touch system for volume, which meant the volume knob had to go. Customers realized quickly that while touchscreens and touch-features are nice, sometimes it pays to have a knob.
Again, the Honda brand heard the concerns loud and clear and the volume knob is back! Is it the most minimalist feature ever? No, but we always have to watch out for always going with form over function.
To see which 2019 Honda Pilot trim is right for you — and we carry several at our dealership — stop into our Hamilton OH location this week for a test drive!
