Mad River Recreation Trail

If you’re looking for a hiking trail that will give you a great view of the Mad River Valley, you need to hike this trail. Most of the trail is enough for even children to walk. From this trail alone, you can access Dayton’s River Scape, Eastwood MetroPark, the Creekside Trail, Huffman MetroPark and the Wright Brothers-Huffman Prairie Trail.

Stillwater River Recreation Trail

Who wouldn’t want to stroll along the banks of the Stillwater River? This trail provides diverse terrain for runners, skaters, and cyclists. This easily makes our list of the best hiking trails in Ohio near Middletown.

Eastwood Park Buckeye Trail

This is a great trail if you’re looking for an easy walk with plenty of opportunities to view wildlife. It’s a 2.7 mile loop of beautiful terrain, and offers some of the best hiking in Ohio. It takes about 48 minutes to complete and is great for running and walking.

Creekside Trail

This trail provides some of the most important and best hiking in Ohio. That’s because this trail also serves as a hub and connects you to Xenia, Dayton. From Xenia, Ranch Park, Beavercreek Station and a rest area that is also home to Beavercreek’s September 11th Memorial.

Wolf Creek Trail

Wolf Creek Trail allows you to follow a historic railroad corridor, which is a treat in and of itself. It also intersects the Great Miami River near Downtown Dayton and connects to Brookville and Verona. It is undeniably one of the best hiking trails in Ohio.
